Phil Hernandez announces major endorsement in campaign to represent Norfolk’s 94th District

Phil Hernandez, a Hampton Roads native and Democratic candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates (District 94), has been endorsed by Democratic Leader Don Scott.

“One of the first people I called before launching my campaign was Delegate Don Scott,” said Hernandez. “From the very beginning—long before he became the House Democratic Leader—I was proud to have his endorsement of my candidacy. I look forward to working together to rebuild a Democratic majority in the House of Delegates that’s focused on creating a family-friendly economy, making smart investments in our future—from raising teacher pay to leading on clean energy—and protecting our fundamental freedoms.”

“I’ve known Phil since he first ran in 2019, and I am proud to call him a friend and look forward to serving with him,” said House Democratic Leader Don Scott. “He could have taken an easier path and practiced law anywhere, but he chose to serve his community by helping everyday Virginians achieve economic prosperity. That’s why I continue to support him.”

Hernandez has a robust and growing coalition of local and state leaders supporting his campaign, including Norfolk Councilwoman Andria McClellan, Norfolk Federation of Teachers President Thomas Calhoun, Virginia Education Association President Dr. James Fedderman, and former Hampton Roads area Delegates Jay Jones, Alex Askew, and Nancy Guy.
